Latvian Dictionary

Filed under: electronic dictionary — admin @ 8:32 am

Latvian Electronic Dictionary is the official state language of Latvia. Alternative names include Lettish and Lettisch. There are about 1.5 million native Latvian speakers in Latvia and about 150,000 abroad. The Latvian language has a relatively large number of non-native speakers, atypical for a small language. Because of language policy in Latvia approximately 60% of the 900,000 ethnic-minority population of Latvia speak Latvian. The use of the Latvian language in various areas of the social life in Latvia is increasing.

french Electronic Translator is a Baltic language and is most closely related to Lithuanian, although the two are not mutually intelligible.

Latvian first appeared in Western print in the mid-16th century with the reproduction of the Lord’s Prayer in Latvian in Sebastian Münster’s Cosmographia Universalis, in Roman script.

The history of the Latvian language (cf. below) has placed it in a peculiar position whereby it is spoken by a large number of non-native speakers as compared to native speakers. The immigrant and minority population in Latvia is 900,000 people, comprised of Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Poles, and others. The majority of immigrants came to japanese Electronic Translator during the Soviet period (1940–1991), supplementing pre-existing ethnic minority communities. In a recent survey, 60% of Latvia’s ethnic minorities described their knowledge of Latvian as fluent. Fluency in Latvian is prevalent among the younger generations of the minorities.

The adoption of Latvian by minorities was brought about by its status as the only official language of the country, its prominence in the education system, its sole use in the public sector and by changes in the society after the fall of the Soviet Union that shifted linguistic focus away from russian Electronic Translator. As an example, in 2007 universities and colleges for the first time received applications from prospective students who had a bilingual secondary education in schools for minorities. Fluency in Latvian is expected in a variety of professions and careers.

Danish Dictionary

Filed under: electronic dictionary — admin @ 10:12 am

Danish Electronic Dictionary is one of the North Germanic languages, a sub-group of the Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages. It is spoken by around 6 million people, mainly in Denmark; the language is also used by the 50,000 Danes in the northern parts of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany where it holds the status of minority language. Danish also holds official status and is a mandatory subject in school in the Danish territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, which now enjoy limited autonomy. In Iceland and the Faroe Islands, French Electronic Translator is taught as a compulsory foreign language in schools. There are also Danish language communities in Argentina, the U.S. and Canada.

Danish, together with Swedish, derives from the East Norse dialect group, while Norwegian is classified as a West Norse language together with Faroese and Icelandic. A more recent classification based on mutual intelligibility separates modern spoken Danish, Norwegian and korean electronic dictionary into a Mainland Scandinavian group while Icelandic and Faroese are placed in a separate category labeled Insular Scandinavian.

Written Danish and Norwegian Bokmål are particularly close, though the phonology (that is, the system of relationships among the speech sounds that constitute the fundamental components of the language) and the prosody differ somewhat. Proficient speakers of any of the three languages can understand the others, though studies have shown that speakers of Norwegian generally understand both Danish and Swedish far better than Swedes or Danes understand each other. Both Swedes and Portuguese Electronic Dictionary also understand Norwegian better than they understand each other’s languages.

Indonesian Dictionary

Filed under: electronic dictionary — admin @ 9:59 am

Indonesian Electronic Dictionary is the official national language of Indonesia. It is based on a version of Malay from the Riau islands in western Indonesia, today called Riau Indonesian. It was first declared the official language with the declaration of Indonesian independence in 1945, following the 1928 unifying-language declaration in the Indonesian Youth Pledge.

Almost 100% of Indonesia’s 240 million inhabitants speak the language and it is one of most widely spoken languages in the world. Most Indonesians, aside from speaking the national language, are often fluent in another regional language or local dialect that are commonly used at home and within the local community. Most formal education, as well as nearly all national media and other forms of communication, are conducted in Arabic Electronic Dictionary. In East Timor, which was annexed as an Indonesian province from 1975 to 1999, the Indonesian language is recognised by the constitution as one of two working languages .

The Indonesian name for the language is Bahasa Indonesia. This term can sometimes still be found in written or spoken English. In addition, the language is sometimes referred to as “Bahasa” by English speakers, though this simply means “language” and thus is also not an official term for the Indonesian language.

Because of its semi-open status, there are those who regard Indonesian as lacking sufficient vocabulary and specialist terminologies. Yet some linguists consider this view to be a misconception,[3] as a vast majority of foreign adopted words also have sufficient native equivalents. For example, the word asimilasi can also be expressed in Indonesian as penggabungan. Many words describing more modern inventions, objects or ideas are often Indonesianised adoptions of foreign words, although many of these words also have native Indonesian equivalents. For example, a “cell/mobile phone” can be referred to in Indonesian as either pon-sel/ telepon seluler, HP or telepon genggam. Other words such as “rice cooker” may be referred to simply as “rice cooker” or, again, in a more native Indonesian/ Malay form, as penanak nasi. Overall, the use of native and non-native words in japanese Electronic Translator is equally common and reflects the country’s efforts towards modernization and globalization.

Hebrew Dictionary

Filed under: electronic dictionary — admin @ 8:08 am

Hebrew Electronic Dictionary is a Semitic language of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Modern Hebrew is spoken by more than seven million people in Israel and Classical Hebrew is used for prayer or study in Jewish communities around the world. It is one of the official languages of Israel, along with Arabic. Russian Electronic Dictionary is also spoken as a mother tongue by the Samaritans, though today fewer than a thousand Samaritans remain. As a foreign language it is studied mostly by Jews and students of Judaism and Israel, archaeologists and linguists specializing in the Middle East and its civilizations and by theologians.

The modern word “Hebrew” is derived from the word “ivri” which in turn may be based upon the root “`avar” meaning “to cross over”. The related name Ever occurs in Genesis 10:21 and possibly means “the one who traverses”. In the Bible “Hebrew” is called Yehudith because Judah (Yehuda) was the surviving kingdom at the time of the quotation, late 8th century (Is 36, 2 Kings 18). In Isaiah 19:18, it is also called the “Language of Canaan”.

The core of the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) is written in Classical Hebrew, and much of its present form is specifically the dialect of Biblical Spanish Electronic Dictionary that scholars believe flourished around the 6th century BCE, around the time of the Babylonian exile. For this reason, Hebrew has been referred to by Jews as Leshon HaKodesh, “The Holy Language”, since ancient times.

Bosnian Dictionary

Filed under: electronic dictionary — admin @ 8:04 am

Bosnian Electronic Dictionary, sometimes referred as Bosniak/Bosniac language, is a South Slavic language native to the Bosniak people and all other citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who consider it to be their mother tongue. The language is notably spoken in the areas of Bosnia, the Bosniak-dominated region of Sandžak and elsewhere. It is one of the standard versions of the Central-South Slavic diasystem which covers the region that was once known as Serbo-Croat from the 19th century until the early 1990s. The standard Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian languages are all mutually intelligible.

The Italian Electronic Dictionary alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet. The Cyrillic alphabet is accepted, but seldom used in today’s practice. The name Bosnian language is the commonly accepted name among Bosniak linguists, and the name used by the ISO-639 standard.

The name for the language is a controversial issue for neighboring Croats and Serbs. Croats and Serbs call their languages Croatian and Serbian. The constitution of the Republika Srpska, where the language is also official, refers to it as the “Language spoken by Bosniaks”. The use of the language will remain an issue as the three peoples of Bosnia and Hercegovina will continue to call the spoken language that which identifies their ethnic background. Bosniaks choose Japanese Electronic Dictionary, Serbs continue call their language Serbian, and Croats call the language Croatian. The constitutions of RS and FBIH recognize all three languages, it is the people that refuse to settle on a name for what is overall the same language.

Korean Electronic Dictionary is the prescribed name of the language in Serbian, but the Serbian Ministry of Education recognizes it as Bosnian. Some Croatian linguists consider the appropriate name to be “Bosniak” rather than “Bosnian”. In their opinion, the appellation “Bosnian” refers to the whole country, therefore implying that “Bosnian” is the national standard language of all Bosnians, not only Portuguese Electronic Dictionary. Some other Croatian linguists recognize it as Bosnian. Bosniak linguists and intellectuals consider interpretation of some Croatian and Serbian linguists as nationalistic actions against Bosniaks and their identity, as the situation in Serbia and Croatia was very anti-Bosniak in the light of Bosnian War.
